Honeycomb Ball Wreath DIY

Are you addicted to honeycomb balls like I am? I seriously don't know what it is, but I love them! So today we're going to make a gorgeous honeycomb ball wreath. It's a very easy craft to make. Honeycomb balls also come in other shapes like diamonds, hearts, etc. so you can make any style of honeycomb ball wreath you'd like. Keep reading for all the tips and tricks.

Honeycombs typically come flat and folded in half. You open the ball and attach the flat edges together. But for this wreath, we're going to open them to a flat position rather than all the way open. This will allow our wreath to lay flat on the wall or front door.

To keep the balls in a flat position, punch or hand-cut circles slightly smaller than the size of the ball from stiff cardstock or poster board. Glue these to the backs of each honeycomb you're going to use.

Before adhering anything to your wreath form, create a pattern. Move the balls around until you like the way they look. Turn each ball so the honeycomb pattern lays in a slightly different position. This makes the wreath appear more full.

When ready, glue the honeycomb balls that will actually stick to the wreath ring. Then fill in the empty spaces blue adding a small amount of hot glue to the bottom edges of the honeycomb balls that will touch other honeycomb balls. If you find they don't stick as well, you can add a strip of poster board or cardstock underneath two touching balls to strengthen them.

To finish off the wreath, hot glue ribbon tied in a bow to the top of the ring.

You can use any color and style of honeycomb balls you'd like. I suggest 3 different sizes. Mine range from about 2" to 4" so keep that in mind when you're shopping for different types.
