Spray Painted Wooden Monstera Frame Tutorial:

You can find the frame and wooden Monstera leaf at JoAnn stores in their Spring/Summer shop. If you can't find them there, then look for any Mix the Media frame from Jillibean Soup or shop Etsy for similar pieces you can alter.

Step 1:  To create the stripes on the frame. Use blue painters tape to create a 1/4" strip, then a 2" stripe, and then another 1/4" stripe (see photo below).

Step 2: Use yellow acrylic paint and a foam brush to paint in the stripes. Before the paint is completely dry, carefully peel back the painter's tape pulling toward the paint so you get the most straight edge.

You can paint the Monstera leaf with spray paint or acrylic paint. I used a couple of coats of spray paint.

Once I decided how I liked the placement of the leaf, I hot glued it to my frame.

Doesn't this look so bright, happy, and tropical. You can alter this project by changing the paint colors. Go more moody with cobalt blues, or aqua blues. Get creative with rainbow colors. Or go with a blue pink and dark, leaf green. Soooo many options for this craft!
