RAD Painted Paper Mache Letters: A Tutorial

Were you a child of the 80's? I so was! So the word "RAD" is still a part of my every day vocabulary. For this paper mache tutorial, I wanted something with a bit of that same 80's vibe, so I went with a dip dye effect in bold colors. I love how the painted paper mache letters look!

How to Paint Paper Mache Letters:

You can use acrylic or spray paint for acrylic letters, but I love how easy spray paint goes on. First, I spray painted the letters the dark teal color.

When dry, I taped off the letters on the diagonal and then spray painted yellow, green, and coral on the non-taped parts.

What you end up with is some totally "rad" desk decor art.

You can make any word you want. I kind of wanted something my husband might like on his desk, so this would also make a great Father's Day or birthday gift for a guy.

Change it up with different colors, different patterns, or different letter shapes. There are really so many options.
