Paper Flower Gift Box Toppers

Are you looking for a creative way to dress up those gift boxes? These paper mache gift boxes were first painted, and then received the most darling paper flower gift box toppers. They come together easily, but they really make a gift box seem special. Keep reading for how you can make your own gift box toppers.

You can see that each box has a few paper flowers. To create the flowers hand-cut, punch, or die cut flowers from your desired color. Because the boxes are so bright, I chose white flowers with yellow centers. Adding an enamel dot to the center of each flower and a die-cut leaf also helps make the flowers feel more realistic.

Hot glue the flowers to toothpicks, curling the petals as you go. Use a paper piercer to poke small holes in the tops of the boxes and push the toppers into place.

Alternate how many toppers each box receives or keep them all uniform.

The key to making the holes is to keep them slightly smaller that the toothpick. Because the boxes are paper mache, the toothpicks will easily enlarge the holes as they slide into place.

You can also do one large stack with flower on the top-most tier. It depends on how you want to display or present them.
