Painted Wooden Houses with Vinyl Numbers Tutorial

Don't you love decorating with spring colors? There is something so sweet about these colors after the dreary winter? Today we'll learn how to create painted wooden houses that feature vinyl numbers. Here's a look at our finished wooden houses.

You can find pre-made house blocks at many craft stores. If you don't have some at your local craft store or can't get to a craft store simply cut a 1" x 4" board so that it has a pointed top like a house. My houses are each 5" tall and 4" wide. Paint each house in the color that you prefer. I found these sweet colors at Target, but you can use spray paint or acrylic paint in any of the colors you prefer.

I used a font called Modern No. 20 to cut the numbers and the letters "no." from white vinyl. I used my Silhouette die cut machine and set the numbers to 3" tall. You can see how I laid out my file below.

Once the numbers were cut from vinyl, add them to your house fronts with transfer tape.

Here's a look at house three houses look together. I tend to like projects in threes, but you can make as many as you like. You can see that the sides are also painted. I recommend painting the backs as well. Allow drying time in between each coat.

Take a moment to pin one of the images for inspiration later. Simply hover over the image and a "pin it" button will appear. Then you can pin it to your favorite spring or wooden craft board.
