Patriotic Party Fans Instructions:
1. Cut three strips from three different patterns of patriotic scrapbooking paper. Pattern #1: Cut strips to 3 1/2" T x 12" W. Pattern #2: Cut strips to 2 3/4"T x 12" W. Pattern #3: Cut strips to 2" T X 12" W.2. Use a rosette die that creates the scored lines for you or use a scoring board and scoring tool to score each strip every 1".
3. Accordion fold each strip.
4. Glue each accordion folded strip from the same pattern together to form one long accordion-folded strip. Connect the two ends and press into a circle. Use a glue gun to hold the circle together.
5. Die cut or punch different sizes of circles from white cardstock and glue a circle in the center of each rosette, making sure you don't glue down the very outside edges of the circles.
6. Use a glue gun to attach the pre-made fringe around the outside edge of the circle, pressing the white cardstock circle edges down into the glue and fringe. (To make your own fringe fold a 2 1/2" T x 12" W strip of tissue paper in half lengthwise. Use fringe scissors or scissors to cut from the non-folded edge to about 1/4" to 1/2" from the fold of the paper. Layer several pieces of tissue paper or different colors of tissue paper for thicker fringe. Trim off any excess fringe from your circle.)
7. Use pre-made glittered stars or hand-cut stars from glittered paper. Use adhesive foam dots to mount the stars in the center of each rosette. Vary the sizes of each star to fit the size of your completed rosettes.
8. Thread twine through a white button and attach the button to the largest, glittered star.
9. Glue varying lengths of thin, wooden dowels to the back of each rosette. Let dry and then place in a tall vase. Tie the dowels together with white ribbon.
Pin Your Favorite Photos:
Here's a closer look at the fans. You can see each fan features a different scrpabooking paper pattern. This makes them more colorful and interesting. Use a scrapbooking paper kit to get the perfect match (see this paper collection in the supplies listed below). The fringe is pre-made, but you could easily cut light blue tissue paper with fringe scissors to get the exact same effect. Be sure to pin your favorite images for inspiration later!
