Step 1: Gather your supplies. You'll need a jar with a removable lid. I'm using a half pint Mason jar. You'll also need something to use as the topper for your jar. I found a box full of cute animals. I selected the spooky animals for my toppers: cat, mouse, frog and lizard. You'll also want a quick drying, but heavy-duty glue. I recommend E6000 glue. It's amazing and is clear. For the paint, I recommend spray paint. Matte paint is super trendy right now, so I used Krylon Matte Black spray paint for this project.

Step 2: Add a thin line of glue inside the opening ring of the jar and then press the jar top into the glue, making sure to wipe off any excess glue. This will hold the ring and lid together. Let dry.

Step 3: Add a dot of glue to the bottom of each animal and gently press into the top of the lid. Let dry.

Make sure to center the animals in the middle of the lids.

Step 4: Spray each lid with the Matte Black spray paint. Spray about 8-10" away from the lid and lightly move the can back and forth to get even coverage without drips. Let dry.

Step 5: Fill the jars with colorful Halloween candy. I like purple, green, orange, white, or orange candy for some fun contrast. Try different sizes and styles of candy for even more interest.

Include the jars in your Halloween decorating. Match the candy or the lid topper color the color of your Halloween decor. Use different styles of jars for a totally different look.
