Classroom Valentines #4: Crepe Paper Valentine Flowers

Who says Classroom Valentines need to be boring and store-bought? How about some charming handmade flower Valentines that come together with a few, inexpensive items? Keep reading for the complete instructions and for additional Classroom Valentines you can make with and for your kids.

These charming Valentines use the most basic of supplies: straws, cardstock, crepe paper, tags, ribbon, and heart stickers. Easy Peasy and they come together quickly.

Crepe Paper Valentine Flower Tutorial:

Step 1: Accordion fold or pleat crepe paper into a circle and staple in the center. If you prefer, staple them to a punched circle of cardstock.

Step 2: Thread ribbon through gold rimmed circle tags and add heart stickers to the center of each tag.

Step 3: Glue a paper straw to the back of the paper flower. This is where a punched circle comes in handy!

Step 4: Fold a strip of mint green cardstock in half and cut out half oval shapes along the fold. Open to create a leaf. Glue the leaves to the straw.

You can use red, pink or whatever color of crepe paper you want for this Valentine.
