The Country Living Fair was started by Country Living magazine. This particular fair is hosted in Columbus, Ohio in the historic district on their state fairgrounds. You couldn't ask for a more idyllic location as there are preserved buildings nestled in between tent after tent of vintage and handmade goods.
A pumpkin stack welcomes visitors every year and is a go-to spot for photo shoots. I can't even imagine what it takes to stack these pumpkins like this, but it just screams fall. Even though the weather was hot and humid that weekend, it still felt like a magical autumn setting.
Concord Road set up their goods underneath the branches of an old apple tree. We had several comments about our beautiful set up. Jill regularly switches up the booth so everything can be seen in its best light. If you come one day and then come the next, you might discover new things you hadn't noticed before. It's worth staying for as long as you can and revisiting your favorite booths.
Each year the fair offers t-shirts with a specific design. You can find this and other information in buildings that look like this. See what I mean? Idyllic!
Concord Road offers so many different types of home decor goods from plaid containers, to handmade pillows, to vintage signage, and patina covered metals. It really is treasure hunting at its best. And that is one of the best appeals of a fair like this: finding special treasures.
Jill "picks" from some of the most amazing pickers and locations. These tobacco baskets are authentic and were located in North Carolina. So many things in the booth have a special story. If you stop by or purchase something from Concord Road, be sure to ask Jill to tell you the story behind what you've purchased.
In addition to vintage goods, Jill always packs the booth with fun seasonal and everyday decor. No detail is spared and everything feels very special and very fresh. The booth was packed every day and sometimes it was a waiting line just to get in. I heard several patrons say this was their favorite booth and they return every year to visit.
After doing some shopping, you can take in more sights or stop for a bite to eat. I cannot describe how good the food is at the fair from food trucks, to restaurants, to trailers filled with delicious-smelling treats. You will NOT go hungry at this fair. Instead you'll find the food is just as good as the vendor's products.
Working the event was extra special because you get to see how kind the people are that come to the fair. They are friendly, happy to be there, and excited to see what you have. And the vendors themselves are like family, helping one another watch booths so you can grab a bite to eat, or help pack up when you're starting to get tired.
The Country Living Fair is an amazing experience. I met people from all over the country. Sisters, friends, and family all make this a yearly tradition. And it's one I highly recommend. If you haven't yet followed Concord Road on Instagram and Facebook, take a moment to do so now. They have some exciting things in store and you might just see them at an upcoming vintage fair or show near you!
OMG!! I saw you there and had no idea it was you!!!! DUH moment! I have some of these same photos including of the Jillibean booth!
