Hello There Scrapbooking Layout with Crepe Paper Flowers

This post was generously sponsored with products from Fancy Pants Design and was featured in the 2019 Spring Issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine. All opinions expressed herein are mine.

One of my assignments for the latest issue of SCT Magazine was to create a layout with dimensional flowers. Oh how I LOVED this assignment. I'm a sucker for flowers. How about you? One of my favorite way to create flowers is with tissue or crepe paper. You can see on this layout here that I created two teal flowers and one fuchsia flower using crepe paper. Keep reading for why I choose to use this unique item on my scrapbooking layouts!

When you accordion fold crepe paper into a circle it creates its own petals. To hold the petals in place, I staple them to a punched circle. (You can't see the circle as it's behind the flower). Then I cover the staples on the front of the flower with a flower center. Here I used a sticker from the Fancy Pants collection.

I just love how textured and dimensional crepe paper flowers are. And it's totally easy. Want to take these flowers a step further? Use felt to create leaves. I hand-cut felt leaves from grey felt and then used a wet adhesive to hold them in place on my layouts.

Here's another look at this layout. Be sure to pin the photos of this layout you like best to remind you to try this technique later. If you do something like this, I totally want to see it.
