Stenciled and Ink Blended Hello Card

I was so excited to receive an assignment featuring stencils in the latest issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine. I have only recently begun to use stencils. I'm not entirely sure why it didn't click for me earlier on, but these tools are just such an amazing way to stretch yourself creatively. One of the projects I created for the magazine is this ink blended card that uses a stencil. Using a stencil for ink blending creates an artistic backdrop for any card maker. Keep reading for some tips and tricks.

Here's a closer look at the card. I used yellow, orange, and a burgundy ink to create the blending. I love how "fall" these three colors feels together. I finished off the card with some die cut elements. The "hello" is die cut from three layers of gold cardstock, which also looks yellow in some photos. I kind of love that.
