Make It Meaningful: Altered Teen Clock

One of the things I love most about being a maker is the ability to upcycle items that I find both in my home, as well as, items that I find at second-hand stores or in the clearance section of my favorite stores. A little paper, ribbon, glitter, and glue and you can give any item new life. For today's "Make It Meaningful" craft, I wanted to share this altered teen clock I created:

This clock started out as a simple black clock located in the clearance section of Target several years ago. I liked the shape of it, and I knew that the flat surfaces would be great for altering and adding paper.

I used an older teen boy scrapbooking paper collection to alter the clock. Note that the transparent die cut shapes on the clock face look cool but don't obscure the clock numbers.

You could use this same technique to alter any item for your teen's room. Look for items they already own to see if there is a way to give it new life in their updated room decor.
