2Peas Make It Meaningful Video #1: Family Crests

The big day is finally HERE! I'm so excited to share my brand NEW weekly video series with you. This series, hosted by Two Peas In a Bucket is designed to help you make and keep more meaningful memories. From the moment you plan an event, to the photos you take during the event, to finally recording those memories we are looking to share those connections, those emotions, and those memories. We want those memories to be meaningful, and we can do that by using our scrapbook supplies to help tell the stories we have to share.

This weekly series is designed to help you do just that! Be sure to subscribe to the Two Peas Youtube Channel HERE or you can find a special playlist of these videos HERE on my personal channel. Either way, mark your calendars for a new video released each Friday. It's going to be a great year full of new ideas!

Make It Meaningful #1: Family Crests

When I was young my family would gather each Monday night for Family Home Evening. One particular night was dedicated to creating a family crest full of virtues my family found important. I wish that we had kept that crest, but we didn't. So I charged myself with creating one for my own family.

In this helpful start-to-finish video below, I discuss the purpose behind family crests, as well as, show you how I created the above layout. You can watch the video HERE or below:

Here are some close-up photos of the project:

You can find additional information about this project HERE on Two Peas.

Bonus Project: I also wanted to show you how the family crest would like if you hung it up in your home. Wouldn't this be a great visual reminder to your family of what you stand for? Simply complete just the family crest part of this project and then hang it in a frame or on a chalkboard like this:

Challenge: Sit down with your family and discuss what virtues are important to you. Then create your own family crest or family crest layout. Upload it to the Two Peas gallery, making sure to mark the correct challenge box. Participants will be entered into a drawing for a special prize awarded by Two Peas. All entries are due by Thursday, January 16th to qualify. See Two Peas for the complete details of this challenge.

Look for a new video and project next week, where we'll discuss a creative storytelling approach to a meaningful layout.
