Chipboard Book Details!

Ok, as promised here are the inside pages of those awesome chipboard books by Karen Foster Design.

And here is the 9X9" book:

What's fun is that you can switch the layout of these inside pieces just by turning the book and creating it in a new direction. So many options. You can also easily remove pieces that don't work for you. The book on top easily fits cut down 4X6 photos which made assembly really quick. :)
More Peeks!!

Ok, doing a bit better every day. Man, I hate feeling yucky. :( It throws my entire universe for a loop when I'm sick. Mom's shouldn't be allowed to sick. Well, frankly, I'd love it if no one ever had to be sick but that's not realistic is it? LOL!

Here is one of the yummy new chipboard books from Karen Foster Design:

I'll do some inside peeks of this one later. It's a really fun design inside.

Switching gears to Little Yellow Bicycle. Here is a card using the Zinnia line. So bright and happy:

And this layout uses the new journaling tablets from the "Say What" collection from Little Yellow Bicycle. This is a "school" themed tablet. :)

Despite the stress of CHA preparation and work, I LOVE all the fun products we get to play with. I feel so blessed to being doing something creative that I enjoy. :)

Trying to Feel Better with Some Sneak Peeks

I still feel "off" and yucky. Talked to my doctor finally last night so hopefully I can start feeling better sooner rather than later.

I thought trying to do some "normal" things would help. LOL! So here are some sneak peeks from Little Yellow Bicycle and Karen Foster Design.
The first is a frame using the LYB "Traveler" line. I am so in love with this line. Rich colors, gorgeous patterns, and the entire line is just amazing!! (see that above)

The second is a layout using the Zinnia line. Glittered items, spring colors, and darling designs. Another great release from LYB!

Now to switch gears and do some Karen Foster Design peeks. This is the Spring line from KF. Here are a couple of samples using this cute line. A card.

And a layout:

I may have a few LYB items to giveaway in the next little while so stay tuned. Just need to organize some things first (and feel better). Have a great week! :)

Winner and quick post!

The winner of the Mechanic's line is:

Here is my idea. The only one that I remembered to photograph was this one using the dimensional stickers that come in the Camping/Hiking line. I made a little scene at the top of the page. These stickers are soooooo cute!

I also love the charms that come in several of Karen Foster's lines. Those are pictured in the circles at the bottom of the layout. :)

Thursday, January 20th Karen Foster Giveaway: Fishing!!

Finally it's my turn to host the giveaway. And it's fishing. This was a line that when I got it and opened it up I fell in love. And my family doesn't even fish. It's lovely denim, red, and creamy tan colors go with everything. And the aged look of the papers is dreamy. Seriously, I could use these products on more than just a fishing project and it would make me VERY happy.
To win, just leave a comment by Wenesday, January 21st at midnight MST. I will randomly draw the winner the following morning. Good luck!

First, I have a layout with my awesome brother-in-law. Yes, you Travis!!

And then there's my nephews, Dylan and Jayden, and their fishing exploits. (I used the metal image fishing brads as bullets in my journaling.)

A card for the fisherman in your life:
And then a tiny sneak peek at a chipboard book (I'll show the rest on January 28th with that day's sneak peeks and giveaways).

Karen Foster Daily Giveaway and Losing My Mojo!

Today's giveaway and sneak peek is "Field Hockey." Make sure and leave a message on Maryfrances's blog for a chance to win the line from Karen Foster Design. Then check out more sneak peeks on Alice's blog.

I went to the crop last night. It did NOT go well. :( I knew all day that I didn't want to go. I'm tired. We've been doing projects all day. I hadn't really prepared. When I sat down to gather items I just kept getting more and more frustrated. I shouldn't have gone. And then come to find out, you have to register for the crop by 2 p.m. or they close it up whether it's full or not. So I had friends that wanted to come that didn't make it in. That just makes me sad. I had no idea. I've been there before and just walked in. I guess I won't take that chance any more. And sorry to those that were able to come. I wasn't great company. I came home and did nothing too. I hate it when my mojo takes a vacation. :( I have a few Little Yellow Bicycle projects to finish up tomorrow morning, and then my CHA stuff will be DONE. Then it's just typical assignment deadlines for the magazine and a few companies. I hope the mojo will be back tomorrow. If you see it, send it home! ;)

Saturday, January 17th Karen Foster Sneak Peek and Giveaway!!

Ok, today I actually have some sneak peeks. :) Today is the love line. Make sure you leave a message on Wendy's blog for a chance to win the "Love" line from Karen Foster Design. Then you can see more peeks at Alice's and Maryfrances's blogs. :)

This particular line isn't your typical red, pink, and white line. It's a gorgeous peach and teal line with lovely embellishments, stickers, and jewels, and ribbon.

The photo up top is of my daughter Katelyn. I used mini brads to create a ribbon the cloud shaped sticker. I also incorporated stickers into the actual journaling where the words best applied.

This layout is one about me. Total disclaimer: I DON'T like having my picture taken, and I have used this photo before because of that. LOL! But it is a good match for the lovely colors in this line.

And I always try to do at least one card for the line to go to the show and here is my "love" card:

Make sure to leave a comment with Wendy and I hope you win. This is one of my favorite lines this release!
Friday, January 16th's Karen Foster Sneak Peek and Giveaway!

And the Mid-Month Garden went up today. I did two layouts. One was about me and how I love to read. I typed up a bunch of books and authors for the background paper. Here's I Love to Read:

And the second layout was about the "New Year." I am hoping for a year that is more positive for our family after some of the things that we have been through. I hope that it is!!

Have a great day, and I hope you win some cool KF stuff!

Too Much of a Good Thing!

Life can send you too many good things at one time, and I am notorious for not being able to say "no" sometimes when I should. This week and weekend was one of those times.

So I finished up my Karen Foster projects: 8 layouts, 5 cards, and 1 mini album. I also created more projects for kfd101: 2 cards, 2 projects. And that wasn't so bad.

Then I started a project for QuicKutz on my latest toy: a Silhouette. And let me tell you, I have become so reliant on my techie husband that it took me HOURS to figure everything out. Now I love a machine that can cut any TrueType font that I've downloaded 'cause I've got several that I can't live without. And there are many cute downloads on their website. But with every new toy, there is a learning curve. And lets just say that I said a few choice words over trying to figure it out. LOL! (And I don't say "choice words" very often.)

Ok, we did figure it out; and it is an AMAZING concept. And their vinyl is yards and yards long so I'm already dreaming of home decor vinyl projects that "need" to be created. (Especially a "No Soliciting" sign--LOL! for our front door.)

But anyway, I spent 20+ hours on 2 projects for QK and when you're just learning a new technique it takes longer that someone that can push a button and go (yeah, I'm talking to you--my Silhouette gurus). But thanks to my hubby who really has the patience of Job and finds it funny when I get frustrated, I completed my assignments. And in the process, I learned a LOT about my new machine; and I got some of the cutest designs EVER!! (How 'bout toadstools and a darling owl?)

Then yesterday in church both my husband and I had to teach in Primary (which is our church's childrens group). My husband is back serving permanently in that capacity, but I was only subbing for a lady that just had a baby. I LOVE those kids so much. I love it when they break into your lesson with the most random comment. I love how there is no way for their bottoms to stayed glued to the chair. I love the way they come and sit on your lap, and lean up against you, and stroke your hair, and tell you that you look like a princess. They make me HAPPY! But I was a little stressed out in my preparations. Thank you, hubby, for helping me yet again--he's taken to calling himself "Awesome Boy." I, frankly, think he is!

And then to top it off and the thing that worries me the most my little man has developed an "Overactive Bladder" officially. And when I say overactive I mean going in, coming out, and going right back in because his whole system is confused. One night was particularly bad, and if he can't get back to a good sleeping system we are going on medicine rather than doing this naturally.

So, yes, now that I've vented I admit that I have a great life--just sometimes too much of it! ;)

(P.S. That photo up top is a picture of a candle that is my new favorite scent: Cider n' Cinnamon and that owl was a Robert's Crafts steal at $3 on their Christmas Clearance.)
Crop moved to January 17th

For those who wanted to attend. You're certainly welcome. And for those who live too far away (you'll be there in spirit). :)

It works better for me as I am up to my EYEBALLS in CHA projects, and they should be done by that date. Woohoo!!

Mailed off my Karen Foster projects. Some very lovely new lines, including one that I fell in love with that surprised me. Gorgeous colors and lovely embellishments.

And wait 'til you see what Little Yellow Bicycle has been up to. Run, do not walk, to their CHA booth. WOWSERS! It's a great release for sure.

I'll share sneaks as soon as I can.
To Crop or Not Crop: that is the question!

Ok, I meant to write on my post below, Saturday January 10th (rather than the 9th).

But I haven't heard back from everyone if they can or can't come.

It's looking like the majority can't.

So I'm wondering if we should try for a week from Saturday? So let me know if you're coming this Saturday, NOT coming at all, or can come next week.

I'm deep in CHA projects and wouldn't mind postponing the crop for one more week if that works for more people. :)

Project 365 Buzz!

Have you heard all the buzz about the CK KOTM Project 365 where you can take a photo a day and do more basic journaling and then have an entire year of photos? It's a pretty awesome concept.

But I have to confess that the whole idea, freaks me out! I do not have the time, will power, or presence of mind to take a photo every day and then be organized enough to print it out and complete an album. It stresses me out to even think about it. LOL! So kudos to those of you that do it. I truly wish I had a photo for every day--except of course for my "bad mother" days. ;)

Apparently the actual CK kit is hard to get a hold of it not already sold out. Go Becky! (She always knows exactly what the people want in their kits.)

But I wanted to share that 2Peas has TONS of digi kits that will help you do some very similar things, and I thought I'd share one of them here.

I thought the one pictured above was just gorgeous. And something someone like me could actually accomplish. I take multiple photos in the month but not one every day so this is a perfect kit for me. You can check it out here.

How about this one from "The Queen of Quirk". Also a great 365 type of project. (You can check it out here.)

Or even this cool one as well:

There are so many options for both digi and hybrid and they are much more up my alley. Just wanted to share them with my blog buddies. :)

Hope to see you there!
Standing Crop Date

All you Utah scrappers, we're trying to set a date at Archiver's in the Orem Mall on either the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of each month. Leave a post with when it works best for you. :)

And thank you for the book recommendations and "get well" wishes. I finally feel almost whole again. I still haven't found a decongestant that knocks out the congestion, but if we venture out today I'm going to try and fine one. :)
Happy New Year!

I would have posted yesterday, but I was ill with a dizzy spell. Does anyone else get those when they are congested? I've gotten them ever since I was a child and then can be quite bad with queasiness and the room spinning constantly. Yesterday was only moderately bad because I caught it in time to take some congestion medication, but I wasn't able to "sleep it off" until last night. Still dizzy this morning but much more functional. I HATE being dizzy. :(

On another note, I wanted to share my First of the Month Garden layouts, which you can see over at 2peas.

The first is a confession of my addiction to M&M's. I am going to try and take out my chocolate caffeine fix this year. I know it's not at all healthy.

The second is about Katelyn always shoveling the walk for me and is for the New Product Focus. I love the embossed white cardstock by Doodlebug, the acetate winter shapes and words by Heidi Swapp, and the lovely winter pattern paper by Heidi Grace (Fiskars). You can see more details here.

The Garden is awesome this month, with the theme being "Inspiration: Yourself." It gave me a very cool insight into the lovely Garden Girls. They are so talented. I loved this one by Robyn Werlich, but then I love everything that girl does.

And this one by Jennifer Johner: using paper doll templates. I need to show it to my daughter.

And Sande Krieger is a genius! Check out this one she did on her love of Anthropologie!

Yeah, told you it was an awesome garden this month!

And lastly, I think I am going to try and do more reading this year (totally off the subject). I like classics and period pieces or Non-fiction. And I'm a bit of a prude so I like it to be very clean as well. ;) So if you have a recommendation, list away. I've been reading mostly YA Fiction, and I think it's time to widen my reading interests to some more adult reading.

Thanks!!
