Blue Ombre Painted Pallet Sign

Pallet "Mix the Media" surfaces from Jillibean Soup are the perfect way to personalize your home decor. These pallets come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and styles. I recommend checking them out HERE on the Jillibean Soup website. They are sometimes called pallet surfaces and sometimes called plank surfaces so you can search for them online as well. Walmart, JoAnn, and some online craft stores also offer them. What I love about them is the ability to alter them. Today I'm sharing a blue ombre painting technique for one of the 8" x 8" surfaces. This painted pallet sign looks so darling with my nautical decor. This also feels like a handmade beach sign.

Ombre Spray Painted Pallet or Plank Sign Tutorial:

Step 1: Tape off the portion of the plank or pallet you do not want painted. I divided this plank into three sections with two of the sections being a dark teal, the middle being a brighter teal, and the bottom being a very light blue. Paint each section, remove the tape before the paint finishes drying. When each section is completely dry, tape off the next section and paint. Continue until all sections are complete.

Step 2: Jillibean Soup also makes lots of wooden (or galvanized) words that work perfectly with their planks. I chose the word "live" to spray paint. You can find additional options HERE.

Step 3: Once the plank and the words dry. You can hot glue the word to the bottom of the plank.

The blue colors used here give this plank a nautical or beach vibe. You can pick any colors you'd like and you can use either spray paint or acrylic paint with these same steps.

You can see how pretty the wood texture looks with the paint. For an entirely different look, you could also use a stain for the wood instead. I suggest sealing it when you are done.
