Chalkboard Lemonade Stand Sign Tutorial

I recently discovered these cute circle chalkboards at Hobby Lobby. It was in the clearance section, and I knew I could transform it into a cute chalkboard sign so I grabbed it. I had lots of ideas for this project: a memo board, a cute home decor piece, and then finally it hit me . . . a chalkboard lemonade stand sign. So using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut several vinyl pieces to make the sign. Here's a look at how it turned out.

Chalkboard Lemonade Stand Sign Tutorial:

Step 1: Gather your supplies. This chalkboard already came with the yellow frame and circular design. Shop for chalkboards at your local hobby store or create your own with chalkboard paint and yellow spray paint. You'll also need a Silhouette digital die cut machine and white, green, brown, and yellow vinyl. In addition, I suggest transfer tape.

Step 2: Open this cut file in your Silhouette Design Software and ungroup the shapes so you can move the lemon off the cutting board.

Step 3: Cut the words from white vinyl, weed, and use transfer tape to transfer the design to the chalkboard (make sure to center the design before transferring the cut files).

Step 4: Move the lemon to the design board and cut the lemon from yellow vinyl. NOTE: I removed the dots included in the design from my file. I just wanted a solid lemon shape. Using the same technique as above, transfer the lemon to the sign.

Step 5: I cut two leaves from green vinyl. I like the look of more than one leaf. You can change up any of the Silhouette cut files by ungrouping the shapes. You could add a different size lemon or multiple lemons or change it however you want. Cut the stem from brown vinyl and then transfer the shapes to the sign.

Step 6: Use chalk to add the sales price to the sign. Since the price may change, I wanted to use chalk for this part of the board rather than using a cut file from Silhouette. But you can shop the Design Store if you want a permanent price cut file on this project.
