Porch Chalkboard Sign Tutorial

Looking for some darling porch decor? Try this quick and easy chalkboard porch sign. It takes less than 15 minutes to create, and you can customize it to fit your porch design with just a change to the color of vinyl or by the embellishments that you choose. Porch Chalkboard Sign Tutorial

Step 1: Set up the cut file in Silhouette. I changed the size of this cut file HERE to about 4.5" wide. You can see I've selected the Vinyl cutting function and can see all of my cut settings in the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Cut the file from vinyl. I used white so it would look like a chalkboard. You could use any color of vinyl you prefer.

Step 3: Use a weeding tool to weed on the center of each letter.

Step 4: Place transfer tape on top of the vinyl phrase and rub firmly with a flat edge tool. Then place it on the chalkboard in the area you want to which you want to add it. Use the lines on the transfer tape as a guide.

Step 5: Using the flat edge tool, rub the transfer tape all over the chalkboard. Pull back the transfer tape gently. If any of the design peels away with the tape, gently place it back down and rub the area again. When all of the shapes and letters stick firmly to the chalkboard, you can finish peeling up the tape.

Step 6: Use felt flower and leaf sticker to add some pizzazz to the chalkboard frame. You could add whatever embellishments you want here.
