"Joy" Stenciled Background Card

Welcome back to this month's "Jen's Cards" series. This week I'm sharing how you can use a polka dot stencil to create a random background pattern for a card. What makes it even more special? I used a gold ink. Be sure to check out all of my Jen's Cards HERE on my Pinterest page. I share a new card each Wednesday here on my blog, so make a note to visit each week for some beautiful card ideas. I want to thank Echo Park for generously donating many of the supplies show. I LOVE working with them!

To create this card, I lay a polka dot stencil on white cardstock. Then I randomly inked some of the circles with gold ink and an ink dauber. The dauber gave me a little bit more control over the pattern I wanted to create. I gently lifted the stencil to see if I liked the pattern and ended up adding a few more inked circles. The strip of blue across the card is stamped with a stripe background stamp. And then there are lots of white and gold accents. Don't be afraid to cut typically colored shapes from white cardstock. It's a really on-trend look that you're sure to love.

Here's a closer look at the card. Be sure to pin your favorite images.
