Product Focus #25: Mini Album Supplies

Welcome to this week's Product Focus. In these weekly blog posts, I'll share scrapbooking supplies or a product trend I'm particularly drawn to, and then I'll share some ways you can use the products in several project samples. I'll discuss tips and tricks for using the products, share some of my favorite products from that product line, and then I'll open it up for any questions you might have. I'd also love to hear your reviews or uses for the product type I focus on each week. This is a chance for you to pull out products you already own and play with them or for you to discover new products you might not yet have tried.

I love to make Mini Albums from time-to-time and will purchase items that I think will make good embellishments, page fillers, etc. in my albums. But when my mini album is complete, I'm always left with extra items I want to still use. For today's Product Focus, I wanted to share a few different ways you can incorporate these items onto traditional layouts. This helps you stretch your supplies and not waste any items. It requires a little "out of the box" thinking, but once you get the hang of it, it's quite fun to add these items to your projects.

Here are some items I would consider when looking through your stash for mini album items to use on traditional scrapbooking pages. If you don't already have items like these, consider adding some of them to your cart the next time you shop at 2Peas. They can be used for a typical mini album, as well as, a layout or two. Now that's a great way to stretch your supplies!

Below you will find a gallery of projects that include mini album products. You can use many of these same concepts to create home decor items or cards.

Idea #1: Layer tabbed pages or file folders on the layout to create a background.

Here is the start-to-finish video of me creating the layout:

Idea #2: Tuck items behind a photo block on the layout.

Idea #3: Create a Grid Design.

Idea #4: Actually use them to create Mini Albums.

You can always watch this "Mini Album a Month" video series which I created for 2Peas HERE. You can create projects like this mini album below, which is a fun wipe-off travel album for kids:

What else can you do with mini album products? You can use folders or envelopes to create pockets for additional journaling items. You can use labels to label photos or add bits of embellishments to your layouts. Do you have a favorite way to incorporate these items into your layouts? I'd love to hear how in the comments section below.

Fantastic projects and ideas! I love your creativity! Extra pieces always make fabulous accents for quick cards and they work beautifully for sprucing up hi-hum frames, clipboards and bulletin boards. But my favorite use for those cute extras? Alter the cover of a journal or notebook! It's always more fun to write in something personalized and pretty :)

  2. I always love grid designs! Especially when using 6x6 paper pads. An easy way to add colors and patterns but maintaining a clean look.

  3. Really awesome layouts! The Nerd Day page is simply outstanding. And how you can take a basic grid and make it something so special and fun, is really fantastic.
