This week's memory: My Daughter Getting Her Ears Pierced

I wanted to document my daughter getting her ears pierced several years ago. To do so, I selected the main photo where you can see her little ear pierced and enlarged it to 5x7. Then I cropped a smaller photo to serve as a supportive photo for my layout and mounted it inside a photo frame. Focusing on one photo draws the reader in immediately and helps support the main idea of the layout.
Here is the layout I created:

This week's techniques: Selecting Photos and Stamping Ink Colors

When stamping a tone-on-tone image, you'll want to select ink colors that are slightly darker than the paper on which you're stamping. You can also use a Veramark clear ink pad or an embossing ink pad and clear embossing powder to get a true match every time with cardstock.

Here are the close-up photos of the project. You can see both the stamping technique in use and the way the two photos work together to help tell the story:

You can watch the helpful, start-to-finish video tutorial HERE on my Youtube channel or below to learn how I used this technique for this layout:

Below I've suggested the products you might consider when creating a similar layout (including the products used on this layout). Start by shopping your own stash for papers and embellishments that inspire you. Combine both older items you've been waiting to use with newer items you've recently purchased. If an item that I used to create this layout is out of stock, be sure to search for similar items by using words like "ephemera" or "tape" to help you find exactly what you're looking for.
