Seeing Double Scrapbook Process Video for 2Peas: Using Frames

In today's "Seeing Double" project video for 2Peas, I created both a layout and a card which you can view below:

In the layout I used frames to create an overlapping grid design that includes added embellishments and layers to give the items some dimension. I pulled die cuts and embellishments from a variety of manufacturers in soft pinks, teals, and blues so they would match. I'm really not limited to how I mix and match as long as they support my theme and work well together:

Here is a better view of the card, which also features many of the same supplies. While your products are on your desk, take a moment to create a card or tag. The design process will go more quickly while you in the mode of creating:

(You can view additional photos of this project HERE at 2Peas.)

Below is the start-to-finish video which includes both the card and layout design process. You can watch it below or HERE on the 2Peas Youtube channel:

I've suggested several frame products, as well as, linked you to the products I used to create this layout. You can search by "frames" at 2Peas to find even more ideas on how to use this fun embellishment.

  1. This is a super cute layout and card! Love the inspiration. I would never have mixed and matched all the different embellishments the way you did until viewing your video. I love the freedom this hobby gives us to use what we love!

By the way, this week started the new Funday Friday challenges over on my blog. I hope you can join in on this week's awesome sketch challenge! Would love to see what you create!

I know that you prepare ahead of time for the video -- and I certainly appreciate that. But when you were creating originally -- did you complete the upper left quadrant before proceeding to the lower left, then to the lower right, to end at the upper right? It seemed a bit ... odd ... that you had a completely embellished quadrant before proceeding with the layout.

  3. Loydene,
Although I pulled all my accents and embellishments out before filming, I created every quadrant within the video so you could see the process. Depending on how I'm feeling, I will focus all my efforts on one part of the layout and then move out and add additional pieces. While other times I will create the entire foundation for the layout and then go back and add details. I find that mixing up the design process works best for me.
    Thanks for your question.
    Jen :)
