Product Focus Week 11: Canvas

Welcome to this week's Product Focus." In these weekly blog posts, I'll share a scrapbooking product I'm particularly drawn to, and then share some ways I've used the product in a project. I'll point out tips and tricks for using the product, share some of my favorite products from that product line, and then I'll open it up for any questions you might have. I'd also love to hear your reviews or uses for the product I focus on each week. This is a chance for you to pull out products you already own and play with them or for you to discover new product you might not have yet tried.

This week I wanted to focus on a fun textural product: canvas. Canvas is a thick fabric that typically comes in a cream color. Manufacturers like Maya Road and Prima Marketing produce lots of beautiful canvas items that can be inked, stamped, recolored and so much more. If you are looking to add a soft texture to your projects, be sure to check out all the canvas options available!

Here are a few of my favorite canvas products (click the photos for links to the products). You can search by "canvas" in the 2Peas store to find additional ideas:

Below you will find a gallery of projects that use canvas elements. Hopefully these will give you some new ideas for using canvas on your projects.

Idea #1: Cut your own canvas and print or stamp a title.

Idea #2: Ink and stamp a canvas banner.

So what do you think about adding canvas to your projects? Do you prefer more traditional items? Is there something small you could start with to try this product line? Or are you artsy and like getting creative? I'd love to hear what you've been creating if you are. If you have a question about canvas items, please post it in the comments section below.

  1. I love canvas. In fact I have that canvas album, that still needs some TLC.:)

  2. I like canvas as well. I usually use it for layering, like a paper. Or as an accent if it is shaped.

  3. Oh and I love that unconditional love layout. Your journalling is fabulous. It was always my favorite when you worked for creativeexpress and did the videos with Kristie.
