Memories Made: Personal Space (6x6 Paper Pads & Stamping)

Welcome back to my scrapbooking tutorial series called "Memories Made with Jen Gallacher." In this series I pick a memory I want to include in my scrapbooks. Then I'll create the layout start-to-finish all while sharing some tips and tricks for using the papers, embellishments, and products I've chosen.

Be sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel HERE to be notified of when I upload a brand new video. You don't want to miss out on any of these fun tutorials!

This week's memory: Personal Space

While searching for stories to document in this series I came across several photos of my son lurking behind my daughter. It seems she's always had a little shadow. He has always adored her, and they have a special kind of relationship that is a joy to watch. I wanted to capture this part of their relationship in their scrapbooks.

In today's tutorial, I used the same photo four times: once as the main photo in color, and then I changed the photo to black and white and printed it out as a photo strip. You can use the same photo as many times as you want when it helps to emphasize a certain point of view.

This week's technique: Using 6x6" Paper Pads for a 12x12" layout AND Incorporating Stamps

For this week's technique, I read through some of the viewers' requests I've received. I decided I would show you how you can create a 12x12" layout with paper from a 6x6 paper pad. I also showed you one way to incorporate stamping onto your layouts. You can see close-up photos of this project below. If you would like to make a request, you can either leave a comment on the video or below in this blog post's comment section. I'd love to help you out with your next project.

You can watch the helpful, start-to-finish video tutorial HERE on my Youtube channel or below. Watch for ways I've used three different 6x6" paper pads on this one layout. You also learn how to layer items to create a cluster of embellishments:

Below I've suggested the products you might consider when creating a similar layout (including the products used on this layout). If an item is out of stock be sure to search for similar items by using words like "Paper Pad" or "stamps" to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

  3. Thanks! great ideas. Do you know what fonts you used to cut out the title?

  4. I believe it was "Ballpark" for the font (which I then welded together). The large fonts I like are "Chunk Five," "Cowboy" and "Blackoak."

  7. I have to go back and watch your video (Love them!!), but had to comment, as James reminds me of my little one. He is always hanging on his sister too. ;) She is always telling him to get out of her bubble. LOL Very cute page!!! I have used pics like this, like you did with your photo strip. I had extra from school photos that I used of my oldest a few years back. :) I love how it looks.. these photo strips. :)
