Product Focus Week 7: Pockets

Welcome back to this week's "Product Focus." In these weekly blog posts, I'll share a scrapbooking product I'm particularly drawn to, and then share some ways I've used the product in a project. I'll point out tips and tricks for using the product, share some of my favorite products from that product line, and then I'll open it up for any questions you might have. I'd also love to hear your reviews or uses for the product I focus on each week. This is a chance for you to pull out products you already own and play with them or for you to discover new product you might not have yet tried.

This week I wanted to focus on one "pockets." Pockets provide you with the opportunity to include an open pocket with items or photos you'd like to share or closed pockets with treasured or private items. They can peek out from another page element or take center stage.

Here are a few of my favorite pocket products (click the photos for links to the products). Or you can search by "pockets" HERE at 2Peas to find additional ideas.

Below you will find a gallery of projects that use pockets. Hopefully these will give you some new ideas for using pockets on your projects.

Idea #1: Create a grid of small pockets.

Idea #2: Use a neutral pocket as one layer in a vignette.

Idea #3: Tuck journaling tags into side pockets.

I'd like to ask here how you are using pockets. Did you die cut your own? Do you prefer a pre-made option? Do you close them or leave them open? If you have a question about pockets, please post it in the comments section below. I will answer some of them in my next "Product Focus" post, and I may just feature one of your projects in an upcoming post.

  1. Great features and thanks for the tips on using pockets. I buy and die-cut with my Silhouette. They are usually used with a purpose but never used on layouts. Hope to change that.

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Love the 'OUTDOORS' layout - the colors are awesome and I've never thought about putting a pocket sideways on the page (duh, right?)

  4. I haven't used pockets a whole lot, but I really needed something to house my journaling on a layout and had the perfect pocket on my Cricut CTMH Artiste cartridge. I love how it added to the page! I don't usually do pockets because I am not sure how someone will access the contents if the LO is in a page protector, so I guess that'd be a good question - what do you do about accessing pocket contents?

Hey! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect against hackers?
I'm kinda paranoid about losing everything I've worked hard on.
    Any suggestions?
