Seeing Double: A New Video Series from 2Peas

This year Two Peas is offering daily videos throughout the work week. Yes. I said daily videos. Isn't that amazing? There really is something for everyone and with the new Design Team, you're going to be blown away with the projects and tutorials they have planned.

I've been asked to participate in the Friday video series called "Seeing Double." This series focuses on stretching your supplies to create both a layout AND a bonus project. The bonus project might be a card, an altered art piece, or something else. It will be fun to see what Laura, Lynn, and Lisa have in store.

This week I'm focusing on using stamps and how you can stretch them. Here are the supplies that I chose to use:

With these supplies, I created a 12x12" layout AND a framed piece of art:

You can watch the following video to see how I created the two pieces below:

Here is the layout so you can see all the ways that I stretched my stamps including fussy cutting them, stamping on a die cut, creating a background piece, and repetitive stamping to create a border:

I repeated the same techniques to create the frame piece. This is easy to do when you stamp double the amount of items at one sitting:

You can find additional photos of this project HERE at 2Peas.

Below I've suggested stamping products, cardstock, and embellishments you might consider using to recreate this layout. Whether you use products you already have on hand or whether you are looking for some new suggestions, this will help spark your creativity.

Looking for some additional stamping ideas? Be sure to check out my "Scrapbook Stamper's Workshop" in which I share 50 additional stamping ideas. This is the perfect, at-your-own-pace workshop for the scrapbook stamper and helps you look at your stamps in a whole new way.

  6. I love your work, and the use of colour to pop a page, but I had difficulty hearing you at times. As I have never recorded a video I wondered if the voice recording is done by the camera or do you wear a mic? You seemed to trail off ~ was that due to a faulty mic or were you turning your head away from the camera (& attached mic). I am not saying this to be rude, just an observation for improvement. Love the idea of using a background stamp for a layout as well as a card.
