Seasonal Sampler Day #12: Holiday Layouts & Matching Cards

Welcome to Day #12 of this Seasonal Sampler FREE blog event. Today I've been thinking about ways to save time and money. Let's face it! We're all on a budget and have certain time restraints when it comes to the holidays. We need every method for saving money and using our time wisely in November and December.

One way to do that is to use scraps from a holiday layout to create a card. First start by creating a layout about the holidays:

Then use the scraps sitting out on your worktop to create a matching card. Here is the card I created using the leftover scraps:

Because everything was already at arms' length, I could easily make the card. In fact, I probably had enough scraps to make several cards. Here's the second card I create from the same Jillibean Soup holiday collection:

When you take an extra half hour or so to make cards from your layouts you are saving yourself time in the future.

Below I've listed the supplies I used for creating this layout and card set. You can use any of your favorite holiday collections (see my suggestions below) for recreating this same look. Give it a try.

Challenge: Create a holiday layout and card set. Share a link to your set in the comments section below. Be sure to leave your email (in code if you prefer) so I can notify you if you win. I'll enter you name into the Grand Prize Drawing for the $25 2Peas Gift Certificate. All entries are due by Sunday, November 25th. Winners will be announced here on the blog on November 26th so be sure to check back to see if you've won!

  1. This is such a fun concept and one I try to make time to do as much as possible. Every once in awhile I challenge myself to use every last scrap of a collection, but other times there's just too much paper on hand to even feel inspired to do that. ;) Your layout and cards are both darling!

  3. I just adore this layout, I can't Pin enough of your style of scrapping but I can't ever seem to create anything anywhere like it.
