Tomorrow is His Birthday

Tomorrow we will celebrate what would have been my oldest son Joseph's birthday. He would have been 18 years old.

This year he would have been graduating. He would have been dating, driving, and probably working. He would have been taller, more manly, have a deeper voice and probably like his Mom's hugs and kisses a lot less.

I am not sure yet how I will feel tomorrow. Some years we are fine. This year seems a bit harder. Perhaps it is because so many of his peers are moving on to the next stage of their lives. Perhaps it's just a year when the feelings run higher.

Either way, I'm nervous about tomorrow. We still have yet to figure out the celebrating his birthday thing.

Right now I just love him and miss him like crazy.

(If you have not yet had the opportunity to read Joey's story, I thought I share a link to a past blog post about him. You can read more of his story HERE!)

  9. Jen, thank you so very much for sharing your story...Joseph's story. I pray that each of you find the peace and comfort that only our Heavenly Father can provide tomorrow and in the days that lie ahead. It brings me so much joy and hope knowing that we as believers will be rejoined with our loved ones someday...on streets of gold, where there are no diseases or pain...only love and happiness. {{{Hugs}}} and prayers...M
