Memory Keeping Monday and Giveaway WINNERS!

I think I'm having a rather pensive weekend. Thinking a lot about life and how our lives ended up in a different direction than we could have ever imagined. We are happy, but we miss Joey often. Yesterday's post was something I've been thinking about a lot. Whenever I hear of someone going through some kind of a loss: divorce, losing their home, losing a friend, or losing someone they love I know they are going to be altered--changed by their experiences. I also know they are hurting inside and I pray often and daily for those who are facing such trials.

I think that's one of the reasons I'm so grateful that I was introduced to scrapbooking by my sister so many years ago. What if I hadn't taken all those photos or recorded all those memories of Joey? Would my younger son who was only 4 years old when his brother passed away remember him at all? I just feel very blessed to have so many albums filled with those memories!

Today I have a "Memory Keeping Monday" project from 2Peas to share with you. I love seeing what the other Garden Girls create on their Monday projects. We all have our own unique approach to keeping memories. It's amazing to watch how we all manage to tell our stories from our hearts.

Today this layout is about my youngest son James. I happened upon this photo of him looking for a photo for something else. And I loved it. It captures his "I'll endure just ONE more photo, Mom" face. Just another reason why I love photography and scrapbooking. You can see more of this layout (including detail shots and additional supplies) here at 2Peas:

  2. I am glad you have all those photos and memories recorded of Joey too. While they may make you sad or miss him even more, they must be of some comfort too. My father in law passed away last August from cancer. I don't have a ton of photos, but am grateful for the ones I do have. Sending you lots of hugs.
Your page is beautiful! I love the design and the products you used are perfect with your photo of James.

  4. This layout is just gorgeous. I love, love, love the colors you used and that sweet photo of your son James. So sorry you had to go through such a tragedy in losing a child. I can't even imagine ever going through that but am glad you gain some comfort in the memories and in the family that you have still to enjoy.
