Where's Winter?

Remember the "Where's Waldo" craze? The books in which you had to search for the Waldo character in a page filled with other items? That's how I feel about this year's winter. We had one or two light sprinklings of snow in December, but yesterday I was driving around town with my windows down and no jacket or coat. Don't get me wrong! I'm totally loving this warm, weird winter. But it's strange to think that by this time last year I was shovelling the walks almost daily. (That's another winter activity I could do without, however.)

One thing I love about winters here is the way the sun shines brightly almost daily making the snow sparkle and giving us the most beautiful blue sky. I took these photos of my son a couple of years ago playing on a Sunday afternoon as we explored the freshly fallen snow in our neighborhood.

I wanted a subtle, cool color scheme and I was completely inspired by the "Twig 2" collection from Little Yellow Bicycle. I envisioned a font heavy page for my left side, which I balanced with a soft circular doily covered page on the right side. Sometimes I let the product shapes and colors speak to me and come up with an entirely new design. I think it conveys the cool and yet warm feeling of winter:

If you had any doubts about needing a Silhouette machine, let me convince you with this close-up shot of the first page. LOVE the ability to cut titles like these:

While winter is still ellusive, you can definitely find additional photos and the supplies here for this layout at 2Peas!
