Back to Life

Oh the disappointment of returning home after a relaxing vacation that reminds you just how good it is to get away and just how hard it is to come back home.

We did it, though! We found a little oasis of peace just an hour away right in the heart of downtown Salt Lake. We've discovered that we prefer a hotel with a living area and a closed door for the bedroom so that the ornery people have a place to go away from the crowd. The kids and their Dad spent the entire time playing Risk, a newly discovered game for the kids. It's all about beating their Dad, and they're coming close on game #2. I, on the other hand, read two books and actually watched an entire movie. It felt so indulgent. I didn't even realize how much I needed to get away until we did it.

A couple of things to share with you today. I hope you're joining in on the latest 2Peas event: "Design School." This event is aimed at teaching you principles of design in creating your projects. Each week the Garden Girls release a new batch of layouts/projects focusing on a design concept. There are also videos and chats about these ideas. You can find my project here where I discuss "Rhythm":

I also had a school layout go live yesterday that is my new favorite. Love a graphic page! You can find the supply list for creating this hybrid page here:

Now I'm off to finish up some laundry and possibly take a nap as the little guy did NOT have a very good night last night. (Stomach ache from all the junk food on our trip I believe.)

  1. These pages are SO very cute! I think I have to scraplift both of them! I've seen these film strips used many times, but I don't know where to get them. Is it a download for Silhouette? And also a die cut background paper you used on your "Now" LO for Stretch you Sketch for April 2011. Thank you!

  2. The filmstrip is a chipboard die cut, but yes. You can download a similar shape from Silhouette.

The background paper from my April "Now" layout is a die cut shape from Silhouette as well.
