Just An Ordinary Day

I was working on a project for American Crafts when I came across this photo of Joey. It seems appropriate that I share this layout today, on April 1. This is the month of his birth. This was the month of his passing.

If you were lucky enough to know Joseph, you were lucky indeed! He was funny, full of life, happy, kind, loyal, honest, hardworking, intelligent, sweet, thoughtful, and so many more things. This month would have marked his 17th birthday, which absolutely amazes me. On this particular day, we had gone to the local park and were just enjoying running around and being happy. Little did we know that cancer was growing inside his little body. He just never complained. My sweet, sweet boy. So although it was just an ordinary day, it was an AMAZING day!

  2. What a beautiful layout! March 31 five years ago was the day my grandfather passed. We celebrate his life on his birthday and on March 31 by eating DQ banana splits ;D It was the thing I remember most about my grandfather - he would take me to DQ and get one for me knowing I would never finish it and he'd just HAVE to finish it for me even though he wasn't supposed to because he'd had two major heart attacks already! Your layout reminds me that I have to do one with that memory. I hope this month goes easy on you...

  5. The most holy moments are absolutely in the most ordinary moments. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm new here so don't know how long ago it was, but I'm saying a prayer for comfort for you. My first husband died 11 years ago this month (at age 38). The passing of time is...without words to describe. Time heals, but it also brings a somewhat greater awareness. A good thing, just don't know how to describe it. You probably know.

Beautiful layout as always. I often look at your blog because I love your work but never have tried commenting before. I couldn't not comment though to say that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers this difficult month.
