I Need a motivating Kick in the Pants!

Help! I've got loads to do and no motivation. Ever been there before? If you can leave me a motivating comment or a trick you use to re-motivate yourself there are some Little Yellow Bicycle Halloween goodies in it for you. (I'll do a random drawing for the winner on Saturday or Sunday.)

This will all be one prize. Cardstock stickers:

Jewelry Stickers:

And some Frosted Shapes with templates:

Thanks in advance for the help!

  2. Oh Jen...they are DARLING!

    Okay, here's what you do for motivation. Figure out what Saturday in Sept. you're available and we'll go scrap at Archivers! :0)

    For now, ummmm....Diet Coke, my ipod and chocolate is always my answer!

  3. Was just coming over to thank you for the reading recommendation. DS loves the Lightening Thief and is actually staying up later reading ahead. This is a kid that claims he hates reading and fights me about having to. Great book!!! Thanks, Jen!

    I just try to switch gears and make cards instead. Here's one of my favorite sites for inspiration http://printpattern.blogspot.com/

    When I have a ton to do and dont' know where to begin, I make a list of all I need to do. Then put each thing I need to do on a separete piece of paper and fold it up and put it in a bowl. Then I choose one thing from the bowl and whatever it is, I do that thing first. It helps my brain to focus rather then doing too many things at once. I also put on my favorite music to listen to while working. Maybe I will do this today to tackle my own list of things to do. Hope it helps, Theresa

  6. I"m right in the middle of a move...and school starting...with a couple of things that I need to get finished up too! but when I need to get motivated...I make sure everything is organized...I pull out the scrappin' snacks...which used to be sour patch kids lol but I can't eat those anymore (they hurt my teeth) so I grab the next best thing...M&Ms Peanut or Peanut Butter :) hope you find your mojo soon ;)

  7. I'd recommend going to www.savannahscrapbooking.typepad.com and viewing one or more of the inspirational and terribly well produced videos on scrapbooking techniques. This week, for example, we're taking an indepth look at my freshly colored hair, short bangs, and the fact that my scraproom is in chaos. Oh, and we're makin' some paper flowers. ha!

  8. Hmmm...let's see if I can come up with some things that I do when I've lost my mojo:

    - put on music (loud if you must, LOL!)
    - put away whatever it is you find uninspiring and do something fun that you want to do for a little bit (15 minutes or even an hour or two, if you have the time)
    - just do it! Start playing with the "uninspiring" stuff and pretty soon you'll find that your creative juices will kick in, and you'll be having fun before you know it
    - try out a new technique or play with a new products (& perhaps even incorporate it into the "uninspiring" project somehow)
    - promise yourself a reward once you finish doing your "uninspiring" deed (like a bowl of ice cream, a walk outside, a nap, talking to a friend on the phone, etc.). Just push through what you have to do to get to the fun stuff you've promised yourself.
    - daydream for a while and imagine something fun and relaxing
    - get up from your table or crafting area and take a walk outside. Fresh air and nature are very inspiring!
    - find a magazine, book, or project you've done in the past to look at and let yourself find some inspiration in that
    - have a snack (perhaps you're too hungry to concentrate and don't realize it).

    Hope one of these tips helps you. Oh - and please don't put my name in for the draw - we don't celebrate Hallowe'en, so the prize "goodies" would do me no good at all, LOL!

  9. Hey....if you and Kristy are going to Archivers, I wanna come!! LOL ;)

    That would me my recommendation for motivation, go to a crop or go to the LSS store. I'm always motivatied by all the yummy goodeies you find at the stores or at a crop.

  10. Lately "Flylady" from flylady.net has inspired me. Some of my favorite sayings of hers are "You can do anything for 15 minutes. Babysteps, babysteps, babysteps. Do it now! Housework done incorrectly still blesses your family." I just have to set my timer and race the clock sometimes. Good luck with everything. Oh, yeah, and reading your blog inspires me too. ;)

  11. definitely gotta ditton the music!;
    then dig thru pics or hard drive for a pic at least 5 years old that sparks a memory;
    then get one new scrappy thing that is just fun and start there!!

    can't wait to see what you come up with!

  12. I either buy some cool products, go to a crop, or if i can not do those I go online to two peas or other sites and look at pages for inspiration. I also will read scrappers blogs to see what they are doing that is cool and fun!

  13. i wish i had a great tip for getting motivated ... but i don't. lol! i came to check out what everyone else was suggesting! and i do love the idea of switching gears when something isn't working (like chris mentioned with the photos). i have a layout right now in the works ... that i don't love at all because the product is all dark colors ... and i just couldn't finish it. so i switched it up ... and started the entire layout over with new, bright colors. and it's coming together so much easier now that i like it!
