Evidence of Love and Support!

I wanted to share some of the beautiful cards and tags that I have received during all of this. It has been so uplifting to go to the mailbox and find another package or another card. All from wonderful people who are helping me get through this.

If you are one of those people that have taken time out for me to pray, to donate, to create and send a card, to write an e-mail, to think about Joey, PLEASE know how much I love and appreciate you.

I hope you realize what a significant help you have been to our family. It isn't what you do, it's that you do it. That you take the time to help me feel better. I have felt your love and strength and I am so grateful to you.

Love to you all!!

  5. I have kept the prayer of Teresa of Avila stuck on the door of my dining room hutch for years, contemplating it every time I pass by. For those who aren't familiar with her words, it goes like this:

"Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which Christ's compassion is to look out to the world. Yours are the feet with which Christ is to go about doing good. Yours are the hands with which Christ is to bless all people now."

Now, as I read all of the words of love and encouragement on your blog, on 2Peas, and elsewhere, I see Christ at work in this situation. I'm so sad for you and wish I could make it all go away. Yet the outpouring of love and empathy I see amazes me and gives me hope for the world.

I wish I had some words that would truly comfort, but as a mom I know there's just nothing I can say, except, I'll be praying for you.

I am sending so many prayers your way! I am so sorry for your loss. There are really no words that can comfort at a time like this, but I will pray that Heavenly Father will send angels to attend you and your family not just right now but in the months and years to come! Remember you don't have to be "strong" for anyone! Let it all out. It's okay to feel what you are feeling!

    Love,
    Debbie

I am so sorry for your loss. I can not imagine what that must feel like. I have followed your journey and admire your strength. I will hug my girls a bit tighter tonight; which I believe is Joey's gift to all of us...reminding us what family is all about.
    May you find peace,
